Smokey Greene and the Greene Brothers,
Arlin and Scott will be performing at the Jamboree along with their father, the Legendary Smokey Greene. Smokey Greene is a true pioneer in country music. The legendary Smokey Greene has been playing guitar and singing since the 1940’s. In 1961, put together an act that opened a lot of shows for name acts like Ernest Tubb, Hank Thompson, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and most of the acts that worked the WWVA Jamboree. Smokey, the area's favorite country singer, has been featured in our country bluegrass jamboree ever since its inception and we are thrilled to have him back.

The Bluebillies
The Bluebillies don't just sing Country songs; they embody them, performing their unique blend of country, bluegrass and folk music with traditional style, sound and spirit. Husband and wife team Mark and Melody Guarino have been singing together since 1984 when they first made it their mission to help revive and preserve the rich heritage of this great and uniquely American art form. Our band lineup for the LTOF Jamboree in August will be Mel (Melba Deen) Guarino, guitar and vocals; Mark Guarino, bass and vocals; Frank Orsini, fiddle and vocals, and Greg Bucking, guitar. Greg has spent the past two decades writing for and performing in a variety of projects and musical styles. One of his current bands, The Vine Brothers, has recorded three albums and spent the last five years touring across the US, receiving generous airplay on hundreds of radio stations, and charting on a handful of them. His song “Three Bottles” was featured on the Discovery Channel show Vegas Rat Rods, and the song “East of Albuquerque” was chosen as a finalist in the 2016 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). Greg also wrote and recorded three albums for the New York based Mother Freedom, one for Broken Carousel, and penned the score for the independent film My Brother Jack. Greg also regularly performs with the NYC ska sensations The Scofflaws.

Just Passin' Thru
Sometimes band names are created on a whim. Sometimes it takes a great deal of thought and creativity to find a name for a band. This band name found us.
Many will recognize that Robert Brill, a.k.a. “the Goat”, father of the band’s bass player, made the saying “just passin’ thru” somewhat famous in the Northeast, plastering it on every vehicle and camper he owned. A man with serious health challenges spanning many years, he lived with optimistic vitality, focusing on the good things in life to be celebrated. And celebrate life he did! Bluegrass music, and the friendships he forged in the fields, were his best medicine.
Goat reminded us all to live joyously and with meaning every day because we’re all just passing through this life. Goat’s “just passin’ thru” legacy was handed down to his daughter and adopted as the band’s name.
Just Passin’ Thru band members are Jim Bevins, Tary Jesmonth, Mac Petrequin, Rocky Richardson, and Brenda Brill Vitek. The band members hail from NY and VT and enjoy doing songs from the Old Country and Bluegrass genres, with some ballads, gospel, and stage humor in the mix. They enjoy playing and singing together…and it shows!
